Answer: C. Notre Dame defeated 10-0 and No. 1 Texas in 1971 (24-11), ending the Longhorns’ 30-game winning streak, 11-0 and No. 1 Texas in 1978 (38-10) and 12-0 and No. 4 Texas A&M in 1993 (28-3).
Overall, Notre Dame is 5-2 in the Cotton Bowl. Including Clemson this year, the combined record of the Irish opponents entering the contest is 84-5 (.944 winning percentage).
