On Thursday, Irish Illustrated confirmed a report from ESPN.com that Notre Dame will drop adidas after a nearly 20-year relationship with the athletics outfitter and switch to Under Armour. Deals of the contract are not known, but a formal announcement and press conference is expected in the coming days.
Under Armour beat Nike to land one of the biggest brands in college athletics.
Other athletic departments associated with Under Armour include Auburn, Maryland, Boston College, South Carolina and Northwestern.
Under Armour is also affiliated with Rivals.com as a sponsor of the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge and the lead outfitter for the Under Armour All-America Game, which featured six Notre Dame verbal commitments earlier this month.
ESPN.com reported that under Armour CEO Kevin Plank was in South Bend today to meet with school officials.
