Most recruits fall in a Rivals250 update.
That’s what has to happen any time one prospect moves up higher in the rankings. If one recruit ascends four spots in the overall Rivals250, four recruits have to drop at least one spot.
And with Rivals moving to a monthly update schedule for the Rival250 in the 2026 class, a lot of recruits will see their overall rankings drop throughout the recruiting cycle. The March update of the 2026 Rivals250 resulted in 22 recruits falling out of the Rivals250 and 178 others dropping at least one spot and remaining in the Rivals250.
A total of 14 recruits didn’t see their overall rankings change, 22 recruits were welcomed into the Rivals250 as risers and 36 recruits who were already in the Rivals250 saw their rankings improve at least one spot.

All four of Notre Dame’s verbal commitments in the Rivals250 took relatively small drops in Monday’s update: offensive lineman Tyler Merrill down four spots to No. 81 overall, quarterback Noah Grubbs down six spots to No. 100 overall, cornerback Chaston Smith down 11 spots to No. 139 overall and linebacker Thomas Davis Jr. down four spots to No. 149 overall.
Seven Notre Dame targets made notable rises in the latest Rivals250: offensive tackle Felix Ojo, cornerback Jorden Edmonds, tight end Ian Premer, offensive tackle Claude Mpouma, defensive tackle Damari Simeon, wide receiver Mason James and slot receiver Bubba Frazier.
Ojo, a 6-foot-7, 279-pound product of Mansfield (Texas) Lake Ridge, received a five-star rating after jumping up 18 spots to No. 11 overall as the No. 4 offensive tackle in the 2026 class. Notre Dame offered Ojo in January after offensive line coach Joe Rudolph visited his school. Ojo plans to visit Notre Dame in April, he told Inside ND Sports on Monday.
Edmonds, a 6-3, 180-pound product of Marietta (Ga.) Sprayberry, jumped up 28 spots to No. 46 overall as the No. 6 cornerback. Notre Dame offered Edmonds in February after he delayed his planned commitment decision.
Premer, a 6-5, 225-pound product of Great Bend (Kan.) High, jumped up 25 spots to No. 113 overall as the No. 7 tight end. Notre Dame offered Premer in February after offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock visited his school in January.
Mpouma, a 6-8, 305-pound product of Chicago Mount Carmel, made his debut in the Rivals250 at No. 161 overall as the No. 27 offensive tackle. Notre Dame offered Mpouma in February after Rudolph visited his school in January.
Simeon, a 6-3, 275-pound product of Richland (N.J.) St. Augustine, jumped up 65 spots to No. 176 overall as the No. 14 defensive tackle. Simeon received a Notre Dame offer on his first campus visit in July last year. He returned in October for the Stanford game. Simeon included Notre Dame in his top 10 schools list in February alongside Duke, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.
James, a 5-11, 175-pound product of Norman (Okla.) High, made his debut in the Rivals250 at No. 215 overall as the No. 33 wide receiver. Notre Dame offered James in in February, which quickly earned the Irish a spot in his top 10 list later in the month. The Irish joined Arizona State, Florida, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Washington on the list.
Frazier, a 5-10, 165-pound product of Savannah (Ga.) Benedectine Military School, made his debut in the Rivals250 at No. 219 overall as the No. 10 slot receiver. Notre Dame offered Frazier in February, and he’s looking into scheduling a visit to South Bend.
Rivals also updated its position rankings for recruits outside of the Rivals250 on Monday. Notre Dame's 2026 class is ranked No. 6 in the country. All five schools ahead of Notre Dame have more commitments than the Irish: No. 1 USC (11 commits), No. 2 Oregon (10), No. 3 Texas A&M (9), No. 4 Tennessee (8) and No. 5 Kansas (13).
