COMMITMENTS

The Skinny: Smith pulled the trigger on his Irish recruitment on Sunday, which came as somewhat of a surprise. The North Carolina talent took an quiet visit to South Bend on Tuesday, July 18, and saw everything he needed to see during the trip.

Smith gives the Irish their second commit at running back in the class of 2018 and the 13th overall commitment in the class. With Smith in the fold, the coaching staff is done with running back recruiting in the class of 2018

The Skinny: McNamara went public with a commitment to Notre Dame on July 17 after making a return visit to Notre Dame for a meeting with head coach Brian Kelly.

The Nevada quarterback camped at Notre Dame on June 18, picked up an offer on June 28 and made a silent pledge to the coaching staff soon after.

McNamara impressed the Irish coaches at the camp, and quickly became the top priority at quarterback afterward.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound McNamara is Notre Dame's first commitment in the class of 2019, marking the second straight year a quarterback has been the first player to join the class.

PODCAST
