Notre Dame Recruiting Road Trip Wrap-Up, Day Three

Friday was day three of BGI's recruiting road trip as we continued our trip through Florida.

Yesterday's stop was Trinity Christian Academy to meet with five-star defensive back Tyreke Johnson.

Johnson has told BGI before that Notre Dame is one of his top schools, and he maintained that notion Friday morning.

The five-star spoke highly of defensive backs coach Todd Lyght, and said he plans on visiting Notre Dame this summer.

See what else Johnson had to say about Notre Dame in the video below.

Johnson has a good chance of leaving Trinity with five state championships. Had he never enrolled in school, Johnson said he has no clue where he'd be in life, but it probably wouldn't be good. Read about his life changing decision HERE.

Verlon Dorminey, the head coach at Trinity, had high praise for Johnson, and said he would be a great fit in South Bend.

“When Urban Meyer was an assistant there, he would come through and spend hours with me,” Dorminey said. “I really got to know and understand what Notre Dame is looking for academically and the type of kid they’re looking for. Tyreke fits all of that.”

Next up on the road trip is a weekend in Orlando for the Rivals Speed Combine on Saturday and Three Stripe Camp on Sunday.
