Notre Dame Receiver Chris Finke Goes On Scholarship
Several tweets seem to indicate that Notre Dame has a new scholarship football player.
Chris Finke, a sophomore receiver from Archbishop Alter (Ohio) — he was high school teammates with Malik Zaire and Nick Coleman — appears to have received a scholarship.
During preseason camp, Finke caught the attention of Notre Dame coaches with his sure hands and route-running.
"He's Robby Toma with more speed," coach Brian Kelly joked two weeks ago.
The The 5-foot-9, 180-pounder has been seeing time behind starting slot receiver C.J. Sanders and also at punt returner.
Finke is the first walk-on to earn a scholarship since the Irish gave one to running back Josh Anderson last August.
