Notre Dame has added another player to its 2017 roster as fifth-year senior and Michigan graduate wide receiver Freddy Canteen announced he is going to finish his career in South Bend.

Canteen did not play for Michigan this season and has battled shoulder problems throughout his career, but he's healthy enough for Notre Dame to bring him in.

He signed with Michigan as part of the 2014 class out of Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy. Canteen was rated as a four-star and the No. 47 receiver in the country. He had offers from Michigan, Tennessee, Maryland and Rutgers.

Canteen hauled in five passes for 22 yards and a touchdown in his freshman season, but caught just one pass after that.

He'll add a veteran player to a roster thin on such players. Canteen will be the only senior on Notre Dame's wide receiver roster this season.

Canteen enrolled early at Michigan, which has allowed him to graduated after three years. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
