Wright is ranked as the No. 4 strongside defensive end and the No. 45 player overall in the country. As a junior, Wright recorded 75 tackles including 18 for loss and nine sacks after recovering from an ACL tear he suffered during his sophomore season.

Wright was selected to the All-USA Texas second-team defense by USA Today following his junior campaign performance.

The junior is the third student-athlete to receive an offer from the Irish staff following 2018 Florida tight end George Takacs and 2019 Virginia safety Litchfield Ajavon. Wright also plays baseball for his high school team.
