Jahmir Smith, a three-star running back out of Sanford (N.C.) Lee County, has been offered by Notre Dame.

Smith had previously been in contact with running backs coach Autry Denson and was hoping to eventually land an Irish offer.

“Coach Denson is a really chill dude,” Smith said. “He seems very intelligent and relatable. I've talked to him on the phone once as well. He said he liked my film and how I'm doing in school, but he needs to check my character as Notre Dame does with all their recruits.”

Smith currently holds 23 offers, including North Carolina, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Mississippi State.

Last season, Smith was wildly productive for Lee County, rushing for 2,130 yards and 41 touchdowns.

The 6-0, 194-pounder is ranked as the No. 19 player in North Carolina and the No. 19 running back in the country by Rivals.
