Notre Dame is looking to add more playmakers on offense and offered an in-state prospect Sunday in Fort Wayne (Ind.) Snider three-star wide receiver Mac Hippenhammer.

The 6-foot, 170-pounder has been committed to Penn State since August.

After the de-commitment of Winter Park (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Jordan Pouncey, the Irish were left with one wide receiver in Destrehan (La.) three-star Michael Young. The staff had been looking to add another playmaker while both were in the class, so now there are a couple slots to fill.

Being an in-state kid this offer may change things, but he has a good relationship with the Penn State staff. Blue & Gold talked to a source close to him who said he is definitely interested in the Irish. A visit is likely.

With every new offer that goes out this month, the staff will need to put in a ton of effort. Especially for prospects such as Hippenhammer who have been committed for several months and are a priority for the staff which they are pledged.

During his senior season, Hippenhammer caught 46 receptions for 611 yards and seven touchdowns. He also rushed for 350 yards and seven touchdowns and added four special teams touchdowns.
