Notre Dame Offers DE Jayson Oweh

Per his Twitter, Notre Dame has extended an offer to Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy defensive end Jayson Oweh.

Defensive line coach Mike Elston went and saw the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder last Monday at his school with defensive coordinator Mike Elko doing so earlier today.

Last season was Oweh's first year of football and the three-star also holds offers from Georgia, Penn State, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Dartmouth and several others.

Notre Dame first reached out a couple weeks ago. Oweh told Blue & Gold the staff liked his versatility and his athleticism.

"Notre Dame would be a huge offer for me," Oweh mentioned to Blue & Gold. "It would elevate me to a higher level."

Oweh will be a name to watch moving forward given his early interest before receiving the offer. Getting the junior on campus is the next step. Oweh ranks as the No. 22 player in New Jersey.
