Notre Dame Offers 2019 WR

With the staff out on the road recruiting and checking in on top prospects, the Irish continue to offer new targets with another coming Tuesday morning.

Per his Twitter, Notre Dame has extended an offer to Hagerstown (Md.) St. James School 2019 wide receiver John Metchie.

The 5-11, 188-pounder also holds offers from Penn State, Maryland, Rutgers and Temple, among others.

Metchie is the fourth junior wide receiver to add a Notre Dame offer over the past week, joining Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman product Trey Knox, Colleyville (Texas) Heritage product and UCLA commit Kam Brown and Thompson’s Station (Tenn.) Independence three-star TJ Sheffield.

Per his Hudl page, Metchie runs a 4.45 40-yard dash and possesses a 35-inch vertical. According to MaxPreps, he caught 27 passes for 616 yards and 11 touchdowns in seven games this past season.

Metchie, who is from Canada, originally was a 2018 recruit before reclassifying to 2019.
