Defensive end is a major priority for the Irish staff in the 2019 class after landing just two players at the position over the past two classes — Kofi Wardlow and Justin Ademilola — after the transfer of Jonathon MacCollister.

Landing at least three players is the projected take by BGI at defensive end and Notre Dame continues to expand the board with another name added this afternoon.

Per his Twitter, Notre Dame has extended an offer to Mentor (Ohio) High defensive end Noah Potter.

The 6-5, 247-pounder also holds offers from Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, North Carolina, NC State and others.

Potter ranks as the No. 30 strongside defensive end in the 2019 class and No. 8 player overall in Ohio. The junior prospect visited South Bend for the Georgia game this past fall.

According to MaxPreps, Potter recorded 68 tackles including eight for loss and 10 sacks this past season.
