Notre Dame continues to search for defensive prospects across the country to fill its remaining needs in the 2017 cycle.

The staff expanded the defensive board Tuesday afternoon by extending an offer to Baltimore Latin School three-star defensive end Victor Dimukeje.

According to Mid-Atlantic analyst Adam Friedman, Duke is considered the leader, and the three-star is also considering Virginia Tech, Michigan State and Pittsburgh.

Dimukeje also boasts offers from the Ivy League, including Yale, Princeton and Harvard. He has taken official visits to his four finalists, so there is an opening for the Irish to receive his fifth and final visit this upcoming weekend. However, it remains to be seen if a visit will happen.

This is obviously a fluid situation given the offer comes just a little over a week to National Signing Day (Feb.1). Notre Dame will need to move very quickly and lock down an official visit in order to have a chance to land the three-star.

Dimukeje is ranked as the No. 18 player in Maryland and the No. 36 strongside defensive end in the country.

Blue & Gold Illustrated will continue to dig on Dimukeje and will provide additional updates as soon as possible.
