Notre Dame, Navy To Play At MetLife Stadium In 2020

The Notre Dame-Navy rivalry is returning to Metlife Stadium.

According to a Navy press release. the two teams will hold their 2020 neutral site matchup at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday, Sept. 5.

"We are excited to return to MetLife Stadium, one of the finest venues in North America, for the 2020 Navy-Notre Dame game," Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk said in a statement. "It will make for a great weekend of sightseeing in New York City and watching the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in all of college football. Our last trip to MetLife Stadium in 2010 was a memorable one.”

The two teams have made trips around the world to play the rivalry. The game was held at MetLife in 2010, when the Midshipman defeated Notre Dame 35-17. Notre Dame and Navy traveled to Aviva Stadium in Dublin in 2012. They also faced off at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., in 2014.

Navy and Notre Dame will play Saturday at Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The 2018 game will be at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
