Notre Dame Names 2016 Captains

Notre Dame announced its 2016 team captains on Wednesday evening via Twitter.

• Senior left tackle Mike McGlinchey

• Senior linebacker James Onwualu

• Senior defensive lineman Isaac Rochell

• Senior receiver Torii Hunter Jr.

McGlinchey helped the Irish set a school record with 7 yards per play, set a program modern record with 5.6 yards per carry and averaged 207.6 yards per game, its highest total since the 2000 season.

Hunter has finished third on the team in receiving yards (363) and receiving touchdowns (2) while splitting time with Amir Carlisle in the slot in 2015. He's the leading returning receiver for Notre Dame.

Onwualu had 38 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, two pass break ups and one quarterback hurry in 2015.

Rochell has 112 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in his career.
