Notre Dame offered 2019 safety Litchfield Ajavon of Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal back in early March, and the junior expressed high interest in the Irish program.

The 6-foot, 180-pounder has made two trips to South Bend since the offer visiting over the summer and for Notre Dame's Sept. 30 game against Miami (Ohio). Ajavon again reiterated his sentiment toward the Irish.

Those thoughts have not changed for the nation's No. 21 safety.

Ajavon took another step in his recruitment tonight narrowing his choices down to seven schools which included. Notre Dame. Clemson, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, Penn State and Virginia Tech also made the cut for the talented junior.

“It was a great honor, great privilege to be considered as a Notre Dame guy and play football there,” Ajavon explained after earning his Irish offer. “Notre Dame is a great academic school and athletic school. It has a rich history and tradition. You have the best of both worlds if you go there. It’s one of the biggest offers that I have.”

After watching the Irish in action against the Redhawks, Ajavon expressed he could see himself playing in defensive coordinator Mike Elko's defense.

“No doubt,” Ajavon stated following the visit. “They kind of play a similar defense to what we do over here. I could see myself playing there during the game. … What I really liked is how they were aggressive getting to the ball."

The Irish staff will need to continue prioritizing Ajavon throughout the rest of the process with several other major programs in pursuit. But, Ajavon appears to be a good fit on and off the field at Notre Dame.
