Notre Dame will begin its NCAA Tournament journey in Buffalo, N.Y..

The Irish drew a No. 5 seed in the 68-team postseason bracket, and will play 12th-seeded Princeton on Thursday.

The Tigers finished 23-6 and won the Ivy League championship.

STORY: The Big Dance & Notre Dame

Notre Dame was the runner-up in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament. The Irish lost to Duke 75-69 on Saturday in the championship game. The Irish are 25-9 entering NCAAs.

In the other matchup in Notre Dame’s pod is No. 4 West Virginia and No. 13 Bucknell.

The Mountaineers finished 26-8 and were runners up in the Big 12. Bucknell (26-8) won the Patriot League.

Should the Irish advance to the Sweet 16, they’d face the winner of No. 1 seeded Gonzaga, No. 16 seeded South Dakota State, No. 8 Northwestern and No. 9 Vanderbilt in San Jose, Calif.

Notre Dame was a six seed in last year’s NCAA Tournament. The Irish were a three seed in 2015. Both years they advanced to the Elite Eight. Notre Dame has now made the NCAA Tournament in seven of the past eight seasons.

The ACC got nine teams into the tournament: North Carolina is the No. 1 seed in the South and Duke and Louisville got two seeds. Florida State (3), Virginia (5), Miami (8) Virginia Tech (9) and Wake Forest (11) also got in.
