Notre Dame G Quenton Nelson Makes ESPN's Mid-Season All-American Team

Notre Dame senior guard Quenton Nelson was named to the ESPN Mid-Season All-American team after a dominant first six games of the season. Nelson, a third-team AP All-American a season ago, has been Notre Dame's most impressive performer up front, and has led a unit that is currently leading the way for an offense that is averaging 308 yards per game on the ground.

Here is what ESPN had to say about Nelson:

"Notre Dame is capitalizing on a line featuring two likely high draft picks in Nelson and left tackle Mike McGlinchey. The Irish have revved up the rushing attack under new coordinator Chip Long, eclipsing 300 rush yards in four games after failing to do so once last season. Notre Dame's 10.1 yards-per-carry average at Boston College set a modern-era record. Nelson is a preseason All-American who has done nothing to diminish lofty predictions."

The second half of Notre Dame's schedule contains several players that also made the list. Stanford running back Bryce Love, NC State tight end Jaylen Samuels and NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb all made the list.
