Notre Dame Football 2024 Scholarship Chart
Here's a look at the 2024 Notre Dame football scholarship chart after Australian punter James Rendell committed to Notre Dame on May 1. Rendell is guaranteed one year of eligibility and could have as many as three.
The Irish are three over the NCAA-mandated 85-scholarship limit at 88, with more roster deletions to come and perhaps at least one more addition. Notre Dame doesn't have to meet that maximum until the first day of classes for fall semester. For now, we're continuing to count defensive lineman Gabe Rubio against the 85 limit since head coach Marcus Freeman expects him to return in the summer. He was away from the team during the spring semester attending to "personal matters."
Players are defined from a class standpoint by their year of eligibility in 2024, not by their year in school.
Players in bold have a COVID exemption option available. Players with a + have exercised that COVID exemption to play in 2024. Players with an * have redshirted. Players with a ^ redshirted for the first time primarily because of medical reasons.
