Throughout the fall, landing another impact defensive end was a major priority for the Notre Dame staff to close out the 2019 class.

The Irish completed that goal with the public announcement today of Concord (Calif.) De La Salle product Isaiah Foskey over the likes of Cal, Michigan, Ohio State and Washington.

Foskey has been a top target for the Irish for some time and essentially wrapped up his recruitment during an official visit in September as the four-star prospect didn’t take another official after.

Adding the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder gives the Irish their second four-star defensive end, joining Howard Cross, and fourth overall along the defensive line with four-star defensive tackles Jacob Lacey and Hunter Spears rounding out the group.

“He’s athletic and plays both tight end and defensive end,” Tom Lemming, long-time recruiting analyst and co-host of the Lemming Report on CBS Sports Network, said. “He has really good length with long arms. Isaiah also has quick hands and feet, but isn’t super strong yet. He also plays against elite competition as De La Salle doesn’t back down from anyone.”
