Notre Dame Coaches On The Road: Daily Recap
The Notre Dame coaching staff is all over the country this week visiting top recruits, and Blue & Gold Illustrated has the scoop on where they were.
Each day during the contact period, we’ll bring you a rundown of what prospects were visited by the Irish coaching staff the day before.
In today’s edition, we’ll also bring you a look at where the coaches were the first three days of the week.
MONDAY, NOV. 27
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly, special teams coordinator Brian Polian and defensive backs coach Todd Lyght started the week by going on an in-home visit with a top defensive target.
Kelly also made his way to Oregon for a school visit with a Rivals250 wide receiver.
Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Chip Long headed to Georgia for an in-home visit with a top target on the offensive side of the ball.
Two Notre Dame commits hosted Irish coaches on Monday, including a local safety and a North Carolina running back.
Defensive line coach Mike Elston made two visits on Monday, one to see a 2019 DL commit, and one to see a 2018 Alabama defensive end who later picked up an offer from the Irish.
TUESDAY, NOV. 28
Tuesday was a busy one for the coaches, including an in-home visit with the nation’s top wide receiver in 2018 for Kelly and Polian.
Four Notre Dame commits hosted Irish coaches on Tuesday, including a Rivals100 wide receiver, a Tennessee offensive lineman, a Rivals100 quarterback and a four-star linebacker.
Kelly also made a visit Tuesday to see the No. 3 inside linebacker in the class of 2018.
Elston took a trip to Colorado Tuesday to meet with a Nebraska defensive end commit and gauge his interest in Notre Dame.
WEDNESDAY, NOV.29
Wednesday was another busy day for the Irish coaching staff, and it included a visit to a four-star prospect in North Carolina who recently opened up his recruitment.
Another four-star prospect who also recently backed off a commitment also received a Wednesday visit from Notre Dame when defensive backs coach Todd Lyght headed to Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy.
Several Notre Dame coaches were in Florida Wednesday, and two Notre Dame commits, a four-star tight end and a three-star cornerback, hosted in-home visits.
Kelly remained in California Wednesday, checking in on a four-star defensive back at a California powerhouse.
Offensive line coach Harry Hiestand was in the South on Wednesday, checking in on an offensive lineman currently committed to an SEC school.
Elston made his way to Maryland Wednesday to check in on a Notre Dame defensive tackle commit.
