Irish Rise To No. 23 In Associated Press Poll

Notre Dame another incremental rise in the Associated Press basketball poll.

The Irish (12-2, 1-0 ACC) moved up one spot to No. 23 nationally.

Notre Dame defeated Saint Peter's and won their Atlantic Coast Conference opener in overtime against Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Head coach Mike Brey’s squad hosts No. 9 Louisville (12-2, 0-1) on Wednesday and unranked Clemson on Saturday.

Six ACC teams are ranked ahead of the Irish: No. 8 Duke, No. 9 Louisville, No. 11 Virginia, No. 12 Florida State, No. 14 North Carolina and No. 21 Virginia Tech.

Seth Davis of CBS Sports continues to rank the Irish the highest among voters, slotting Notre Dame at No. 16
