THE LATEST

The Florida talent took trips to Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, Clemson and Florida, and seemed to enjoy each one. Notre Dame is facing top-level competition for the 6-foot-5, 265-pound tackle, but Petit-Frere doesn't plan on announcing his decision anytime soon.

OFFSEASON UPDATE

Petit-Frere isn't your typical recruit. The four-star doesn't frequent social media, isn't constantly checking his phone and didn't spend his summer participating in prospect camps.

Instead, Petit-Frere made visits to multiple college campuses, so long as they didn't interfere with his offseason workout plans.

Petit-Frere is extremely dedicated to his team at Berkeley Prep, and has said his senior season is his biggest focus going forward.

THEY SAID IT

“He’s just relentless. His motor runs 100 miles an hour. He’s one of the great lineman that I’ve ever coached. He’s one of the most dominant players I’ve ever coached.”

"He's got great feet, he can run, he's a tough, vicious type of blocker. He's done a tremendous job for us … He gets better everyday and if he continues to do that and develop he has a chance to be a special, special player.”

"He’s a tremendous young man, a great student and a fierce competitor. In my years of coaching, He might be maybe, realitive to me, one of the great linemen I’ve coached. He just seems like he’s a prototypical, special, offensive tackle where he’s going to be this perfect kind of guy, a prototype physically." — Berkeley Prep head coach Dominick Ciao

"He's got an an incredibly long build. He still needs to add some weight but he's really beefed up in the last year. We love his upside and potential obviously and he should become a big-time player as he adds muscle." — Rob Cassidy, Rivals Southeast Recruiting Analyst

BGI EVALUATION

"Petit-Frere is an incredibly talented young offensive lineman that also excels on the defensive side of the ball. A lack of elite size is all that keeps him from being a possible five-star recruit. Petit-Frere has a frame that reminds me of former Florida standout D.J. Humphries, who went on to be a first round pick of the Arizona Cardinals. Petit-Frere does not have elite height or length, but he is long enough to play on the edge.

What makes Petit-Frere a special recruit is his elite athletic skills at the position. He’s not as big or as strong at this point, but Petit-Frere is similar athletically – and perhaps a touch better in that regards – than 2017 offensive tackle Trey Smith, who ranked as my No. 1 offensive linemen in the entire 2017 class. Petit-Frere has outstanding foot quickness, balance and speed, which makes him dominant on movement blocks, in the screen game and gives him the potential to be an elite pass blocker.

Petit-Frere explodes off the ball, plays with good pad level, plays with a good base and shows impressive leg drive. The 6-5 tackle has fast and powerful hands, but he will need to add a lot of strength and weight."
