Fishers (Ind.) Hamilton Southeastern 2018 defensive end Madison Norris took in Notre Dame’s home opener against Nevada Sept. 10 and the visit surpassed his expectations.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Norris made his way over to South Bend again this past weekend for Notre Dame’s 30-27 victory over Miami. Just like his first fall trip, Notre Dame impressed him.

“It was great,” Norris said. “It was a fantastic experience being able to go see a great team like that.

“It surpassed my expectations like it did the last time. It gets better and better every time I go.”

Norris enjoyed his time around the Irish program, but was hoping to see more this time around.

“[I’d rate the visit] an eight,” Norris said. “Overall it was great, but I wish I had the time to see a little bit more… my favorite part was walking down the trail with people watching us like we were part of the team.”

Most, if not all, prospects who visit Notre Dame typically rave about the atmosphere they experience. Norris is no different.

“The game atmosphere is the best I've ever seen,” Norris said. “I've never seen fans so committed to the game like Notre Dame’s. What stood out the most would be the little band songs with the chants they do every once in a while.”

While currently listed as a defensive end, Norris, if given the opportunity to be part of the Irish program, sees himself playing elsewhere on the defense.

“I think I'd make a fit at the outside linebacker position due to my size,” Norris said.

Norris and Notre Dame are still in the early stages of the recruiting process. Norris has been in contact with coordinator of recruiting operations Aaryn Kearney.

Norris holds three offers from Louisville, Indiana and Central Michigan. Besides his two visits to Notre Dame, Norris has been to Louisville and Cincinnati. He plans to visit both programs again.

According to MaxPreps, as a junior Norris recorded 67 total tackles (42 solo) including 10 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery.
