Notre Dame held just a one-point lead going into halftime before exploding during the final 30 minutes to claim a 45-23 win over No. 24 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

Check out some of the top highlights from the Irish win below.

FIRST QUARTER

Notre Dame wasted no time taking the opening drive in for a touchdown via a one-yard rushing score from running back Dexter Williams.

After holding the Hokies, Notre Dame dialed up a deep shot from quarter Ian Book to wide receiver Chris Finke for a 56-yard gain to go deep into Virginia Tech territory. Kicker Justin Yoon would cap off the drive with a 31-yard touchdown giving the Irish an early 10-0 lead.

SECOND QUARTER

With the Hokies moving into Irish territory, the Notre Dame pass rush got to Ryan Willis forcing a fumble.

Notre Dame cornerback Julian Love took care of the rest taking it to the house from 42 yards out to take a 17-9 lead with just over a minute left in the half.

With multiple miscues on other drives, Virginia Tech finally found the end zone with time running out in the first half. Willis found star wide receiver Damon Hazelton on the outside for a three-yard score to make it 17-16 Notre Dame going into the half.

THIRD QUARTER

The Irish run game finally found its footing early in the third quarter when Williams took it 97 yards for a big-time touchdown to put the Irish up 24-16.

On 3-and-8, Book scrambled to his left before finding a wide open wide receiver in Miles Boykin who did the rest for a 40-yard touchdown. The play put the Irish up 31-16 with 4:59 left in the quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER

The Irish continued to pour it on in the second half getting another touchdown connection from Book to Boykin with this one coming from five yards out. Notre Dame led 38-16 with 9:08 remaining in the game.

Virginia Tech cut the lead to 15, but Williams put the final nail in the coffin with a 31-yard scamper to extend Notre Dame's advantage to 45-23.
