Notre Dame hosted several prospects from different classes over the weekend, including 2021 offensive tackle Brody Wisecarver from St. Louis De Smet.

Wisecarver — a 6-foot-5, 300-pound sophomore — said he loved getting to see Notre Dame up close.

“It was really cool,” Wisecarver said. “The one thing I keep talking about is how old everything looked. That’s one of the best parts of the campus.”

Obviously, the big event of the weekend was Notre Dame’s blowout win over No. 7 Stanford.

Wisecarver said getting to experience the atmosphere of a top-10 matchup is something he won’t soon forget.

“It was cool to see the offense and the offensive line get it going,” Wisecarver said. “It was good to see the game played at a higher level.”

Overall, Wisecarver said the family feel of Notre Dame was the biggest thing that stuck out to him during the trip.

“What jumps out in my mind is the community there, especially with the football team,” Wisecarver said. “I was talking to some people who go to school there, and I liked how everyone knew everyone.

“It’s one big giant family instead of just a bunch of people they go to school with.”

Wisecarver also had the chance to speak briefly with offensive line coach Jeff Quinn. Although their conversation was short, the young standout said he was impressed with Quinn.

“He seemed like the coach that if he believes in you, he’ll push you as hard as he can,” Wisecarver explained. “But he wants you to work for it.”

Only a sophomore, Wisecarver’s recruitment is in the early stages. So far, the sophomore holds just one offer, from Kentucky.

However, with his already massive frame continuing to grow, Wisecarver should see more schools jump in the mix as times goes on.

If Notre Dame is one of those schools, Wisecarver said he’d be ecstatic.

“That would be amazing,” Wisecarver said. “Right now, I’m just taking anything I can get from any college, but that would be great.”
