Ferguson is Irish

One look at Notre Dame and Justin Ferguson knew where he wanted to play his college football.
The wide receiver from Pembroke Pines, Fla., had planned to play out the recruiting process a little longer but following an unofficial visit to South Bend during the Blue-Gold Game weekend he decided to move up his decision-making timetable, committing to the Irish on Monday.

News of Ferguson's commitment leaked out Sunday night with an announcement planned for late Monday afternoon.
"They're definitely one of my top choices right now," Ferguson told Irish Illustrated following his unofficial visit. "I did some research on it too and I think it's between Florida and Notre Dame for me right now."
Adding Ferguson makes six commitments for Notre Dame in the Class of 2012 and the first from Florida.
Ferguson chose Notre Dame over verbal scholarship offers from Florida, Florida International, Florida State, Miami, UCF and Wisconsin. Other programs showing interest included Alabama Kentucky, Minnesota, Rutgers, Tennessee and West Virginia.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect is the first offensive skill position player the Irish have landed in what is expected to be at least a three-man class of wide receivers.
