Class Impact: 2021 OL Greg Crippen To Notre Dame
Notre Dame is already starting to load up in the 2021 class, with the Irish picking up their second commitment in the class when Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy standout offensive lineman Greg Crippen announced his decision to play for the Irish.
Crippen visited Notre Dame on March 21, and his public announcement came less than a week later.
The talented guard earned offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Boston College, Duke, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Syracuse.
CLASS IMPACT
Notre Dame has yet to secure a commitment from an offensive lineman in the 2020 class, but that hasn’t stopped the staff from making a hard push on 2021 offensive lineman. That’s why it’s not overly surprising that the 2021 class got a commitment before the 2020 class.
The Irish have signed four offensive linemen in each of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 classes. All but one of the players in the 2017 and 2018 classes redshirted, and it is expected that all four of the 2019 signees will redshirt this upcoming season. That puts Notre Dame in a situation where it could get away with a smaller 2020 class up front.
