Chicago TE TJ Ivey Set to Make First Visit to Notre Dame
TJ Ivey, a 2018 tight end out of Chicago Marist, has heard good things about Notre Dame for a while now, and will get the chance to see them for himself this weekend.
Ivey will head to South Bend to watch the Irish host Miami, and said he is looking forward to seeing a game in Notre Dame stadium.
“I'm very excited,” Ivey stated of the visit. “Notre dame always sells out games I, really looking forward to seeing what they are really about out there”
The tight end prospect said he believes the setting of a Notre Dame football game is a major factor that sets the school and the program apart from those in the rest of the country.
“It's just the atmosphere really,” Ivey said. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about the stadium and the fans and the program in general. I can't wait to get out there and experience it for myself”
Ivey said he decided to take the visit after talking with the Notre Dame staff, who have reportedly liked what they’ve seen from the high school junior.
Ivey, who just received his first offer from Iowa State, said the staff told him they have been impressed with his film, and wanted him to come to a game.
It’s early, but if Notre Dame offer ever were to come, Ivey said he would be thrilled.
“That would be huge,” Ivey said. “ND is a great school academics and athletics wise, so that would be a special opportunity.”
In a school, Ivey said he is just hoping to find a place that feels right for him.
“Being comfortable is a huge thing,” Ivey said. “Making sure that the college is somewhere I can picture myself for the next 4 years.”
Could Notre Dame be that place, should an offer come by next signing day?
“From what I've heard, yes I could (see myself there.),” Ivey explained “I just need to visit and get that experience for myself.”
