Brock Wright Commits To Notre Dame

All it took was just a few days.
Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair four-star tight end Brock Wright committed to Notre Dame on Friday, just a week after visiting South Bend for the Irish Invasion.

Wright, who is regarded as one of the top tight end prospects in the country for the class of 2017, picked the Irish over other scholarship offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Alabama, LSU, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
The 6-5, 238-pound tight end originally visited Notre Dame back for a Junior Day back on March 21. He returned to campus last week with his family to work out a the event and meet with the coaches. That's when the staff started to make a move.
Tight ends coach Scott Booker and offensive coordinator Mike Sanford told Wright that he was the prospect they had to to have, and it didn't take long to sway him into making a pledge.
The tight end became commit No. 2 in the class of 2017. He joins St. Petersburg (Fla.) Northside Christian School three-star offensive tackle Dillan Gibbons, who committed to Notre Dame back in April.
While it will go down as an impressive recruiting coup for the Irish to pull a top talent out of Texas just a few months after losing area recruiter Kerry Cooks to Oklahoma, what makes the commitment even more notable is Wright's ties to the state. His father — Len — played for Texas Tech in the late 1980's.
"I have always been a big Tech fan because of my Dad, my Mom went there as well," Wright told RedRaiderSports.com earlier this month.
Wright will give the the Irish another top talent at tight end. The program singed Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star tight end Aliz'e Jones back in February.
