Rivals has released its first edition of the Rivals250 for the class of 2019, and both Notre Dame commits made the cut.
Jacob Lacey, a four-star defensive tackle from Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren, is the highest ranked on the list coming in at No. 231 overall.
The 6-2, 295-pounder committed to Notre Dame in July over Clemson, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and Louisville. Notre Dame offered the four-star in June of 2016 following his performance at Irish Invasion.
Checking in at No. 236 overall is quarterback commit Cade McNamara of Reno (Nev.) Damonte Ranch. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder pick the Irish over offers from Wisconsin, Nevada, Hawaii and San Diego State. He threw for 3,577 yards and 46 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign.
At the time of his July commitment, McNamara was a three-star prospect, but received a bump to a four-star in the latest rankings. Notre Dame currently has eight Rivals250 players committed in the class of 2018, giving them 10 overall in 2018 and 2019 combined.
Several top Irish targets are also featured on the list. Everett (Mass.) High defensive back Lewis Cine landed at No. 117. The Irish offered Cine during a July visit and he has unique connection living in the hometown of head coach Brian Kelly.
Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Siegel defensive lineman Joesph Anderson (No. 127) visited Notre Dame for the program's Sophomore Day in April and plans to return to South Bend this fall. The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder has told Blue & Gold Illustrated multiple times he could see himself playing at Notre Dame.
A couple Midwest Irish defensive line targets also made the list: Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis DeSales defensive tackle Rodas Johnson (No. 133) and Kentwood (Mich.) East Kentwood defensive tackle Mazi Smith (No. 186). Both players landed offers from the Irish following their performances during June camps and expressed their interest in the Notre Dame program.
Honolulu Punahou is a program familiar with Irish fans as it is the school that produced All-American linebacker Manti Te'o. Notre Dame could also land another talented linebacker from the program in Maninoa Tufono. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder added an Irish offer on July 1 and has more connections to the program than just Te'o. Tufono is the first cousin of Notre Dame freshman defensive tackle Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa and the father of Irish safety Alohi Gilman is an assistant at Punahou. Tufono is interested in Notre Dame and the staff may have a couple extra recruiters helping persuade the talented linebacker to join the Irish.
Another 2019 defensive lineman who has expressed a lot of interest in Notre Dame is Sachse (Texas) High defensive end Hunter Spears, who landed at No. 241. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder could visit this fall and said the Irish will be a contender throughout his recruitment.
Other Irish offers on the list include Orange (Calif.) Lutheran tight end Ethan Rae (No. 104), Detroit King defensive back Marvin Grant (No. 116), Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic defensive back Ronnie Hickman (No. 128), Fort Worth (Texas) linebacker Nana Osafo-Mensah (No. 130), Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge offensive tackle Tyler Johnson (No. 141), Kennesaw (Ga.) Mountain tight end Ryland Goede (No. 199) and Eugene (Ore.) Sheldon athlete Raymond Woodie (No. 222).
