Notre Dame got early looks at a number of underclassmen over this past weekend, including 2021 outside linebacker Jermaine Hamilton-Jordan of Kansas City (Mo.) Lincoln College Prep.

The 6-foot-1, 205 pound Hamilton-Jordan said the opportunity to see Notre Dame was a great experience.

"It was good,” Hamilton-Jordan told Blue & Gold Illustrated. “It felt close to home. They treated me well and I enjoyed it.”

The weekend trip revolved around Notre Dame’s annual Blue-Gold spring game, which Hamilton-Jordan and his fellow prospects got to attend.

Seeing the game, Hamilton-Jordan said, was impressive.

“That was good,” Hamilton-Jordan said. “They were focused on the game, they were hype and into it. I enjoyed that for sure.”

Outside of the spring game, Hamilton-Jordan got a campus and facilities tour and was able to get a feel for everything Notre Dame has to offer.

After spending time on campus, Hamilton-Jordan said he was blown away by Notre Dame.

“It’s a 10 out of 10,” Hamilton-Jordan said. “They keep everything professional and handle business down there. They don’t let anybody get off track. They’re on a mission for a national championship.”

So far, Hamilton-Jordan doesn’t hold any scholarship offers, but schools like Notre Dame, Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska have shown interest.

Hamilton-Jordan will return to South Bend for the Irish Invasion on June 9 in hopes of putting on a good enough show in front of the coaches to earn an offer.

If that offer does eventually come, the Missouri talent said he’d be fired up.

“To get an offer from a school like that would mean all my hard work has paid off,” Hamilton-Jordan said. “I have no offers right now, and if they offered me that would be big. That’s a big-time program. They’re a family and they would treat me well.”
