As Notre Dame returns to South Bend for a home game this weekend, the Irish will host one the class of 2020’s top wide receiver prospects.

Gee Scott Jr., a Bellvue (Wash.) Eastside Catholic prospect, will make the trip from the West Coast to get a closer look at Notre Dame, a program he’s already high on at an early point in his football career.

“That’s going to be my first visit to watch a college game on the East Coast,” Scott said. “That’s going to be big for me. I can’t wait to see the environment of Notre Dame.”

Being that he’s in the 2020 class, the Notre Dame coaching staff cannot yet have direct contact with Scott, but the young standout said his athletic director and his father made sure to set up the visit.

Scott said he’s eager to make the trip because he’s heard a lot about the Irish program, and wanted to see it up close for himself.

“It’s a pretty far trip,” Scott said. “On TV and on the internet, I’ve always been able to see the passion they have for football down there.”

Admittedly, Scott doesn’t know much else about Notre Dame at the moment, but the talented pass catcher said he’s looking forward to learning more about the Irish.

Scott currently holds offers from Colorado, Oregon, UCLA, and Utah, and said it would be a big deal to add Notre Dame to that list.

“That would be outstanding,” Scott said. “From what I’ve seen so far, I’ve seen nothing but good things. I love the culture that I’ve seen from them so far.”

With almost three full years left in his high school career, Scott has a long way to go before making any decisions.

However, the Washington talent did say he’s already got a few criteria in mind for his future college.

“Disciplined coaching and a great receiving staff,” Scott said. “And somewhere I feel comfortable. That’s a big thing for me.”
