Class of 2020 four-star offensive lineman Bryn Tucker comes from a program that knows plenty about winning.

Last season, Tucker and Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic amassed a 12-4 record on their way to a Tennessee Division 1 5A State Championship.

Heading into 2018, Tucker said he’s ready to repeat.

“It’s going amazing,” Tucker said of his offseason. “Me and my teammates are getting hyped up for the season. We’re doing agilities right now and I’m ready to get this team started up.”

Though he’s only a rising junior, Tucker is already one of the key pieces in the Knoxville Catholic machine.

Regardless of how young he is, Tucker said he’s already taken on the role of being a leader.

“You’ve always got to be a leader, no matter what,” Tucker explained. “Leaders are key factors to teams for winning championship and I consider myself a leader.”

In terms of how he chooses to lead, Tucker said there are no restrictions. If a situation calls for him to be vocal, the underclassmen isn’t afraid to let his voice be heard.

“I’m everything as a leader,” Tucker told Blue & Gold Illustrated. “ I’m vocal, I’m a hype man, I’m everything. I want my team to be the best in the country.”

With his junior season coming up, Tucker is already regarded as one of the top football players in the country.

The Tennessee talent holds offers from major programs throughout the country and was recently listed in the new Rivals100 for the class of 2020.

But even with the recruiting and the state title, Tucker knows he hasn’t arrived and still has plenty to work on.

“I want to keep working on my footwork,” Tucker said. “Slow feet don’t eat, and I look at that.”

As far as recruiting goes, Tucker said his top five schools at the moment are Notre Dame, Alabama, Virginia Tech Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Tucker has visits coming up to Auburn, Tennessee and Virginia Tech this month, and is working on setting up a trip to South Bend for a game day in the fall.
