Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek cornerback Jevin Murray visited Notre Dame on Friday, and was blown away by what he saw during the trip.

Murray, a class of 2019 prospect, said everything about the visit was great.

“I loved Notre Dame,” Murray said. “It’s amazing. All the tradition of campus and everything is just amazing.”

According the 5-foot-10, 158-pound Murray, Notre Dame has been trying to get him on campus for a while now.

“They invited me to a few camps this summer, but I couldn’t make it,” Murray said. “I called Coach Lyght and he told me to come up for a visit.”

When he finally was able to make the trip, Murray said the culture surrounding Notre Dame and its football program was especially intriguing to him.

“Notre Dame just has that tradition,” Murray said. “They like to keep everything traditional and they have their own style. That’s one unique thing about Notre Dame that really stood out to me.”

As it stands, Murray does not yet hold any offers.

However, the Texas talent said he’s been hearing from several schools.

Baylor, Kansas State, Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Indiana and a few others have been showing interest, and Murray said he’s hopeful offers will start to come once he starts his junior season.

If one of those is Notre Dame, the Irish would certainly be in strong position to pull him out of the Lone Star State.

“It would really be a dream come true,” Murray stated. “I would have no words.”

According to Murray, Lyght said he and the rest of the coaching staff will be keeping an eye on him going forward.

“Coach Lyght said they’re looking at me and they’ll always keep an eye on me,” Murray said. “He also told me things that I can better on.”

During the visit, Murray and Lyght spent a good bit of time together, and Murray said he’s looking forward to building their relationship going forward.

“He doesn’t hold anything back,” Murray said. “He just gives you the real stuff. He gave me some great advice and I’ll never forget it.”
