The recruitment process is over for Naperville (Ill.) Neuqua Valley four-star athlete Isaiah Robertson.

There is no second-guessing his choice and his focus this summer has been on continuing to improve in order to ultimately capture a state championship in his final season of high school football at Neuqua Valley.

“It’s pretty much no question for me,” Robertson said of his commitment status to the Irish. “It’s where I want to be. It’s where I want to develop.

“My goals for myself are to continue getting better every day, being the best player I can be and continuing to learn the game. Just to dominate really and stand out. For my team, obviously win the state championship. We have what we need to accomplish that goal. We just have to work hard and get in rhythm with each other and we will be able to do what we want to with each other.”

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Robertson said he has been working on improving his speed and flexibility this summer. His expectations for himself this fall are pretty simple: dominant and shine.

“I really expect myself, like I said, to dominate,” Robertson said. “I expect to just have a good season. Nothing bad, nothing mediocre. I expect myself to stand out.”

For a while, several schools like Michigan, Penn State and Illinois were still recruiting Robertson even with his commitment to the Irish. But he made it clear where his heart is and those schools have since slowed down their efforts to change his mind.

“[Notre Dame] can offer me so much more outside the game of football,” Robertson said. “I’m going to have a life after football and I have to be ready for that. I feel Notre Dame can prepare me the most to take on that kind of lifestyle and help me still be able to provide without the game of football.”

Robertson continues to grow his relationships with Mike Denbrock and Todd Lyght.

“Coach Denbrock was really the first Notre Dame coach I heard from,” Robertson said. “He really explained to me a lot of things about the school [like] what it could do for me. He got me down to visit and things like that. He got all that done and once they offered me and after I committed we talked a lot then I got introduced to Coach Lyght. Me and him talk about every week, at least twice a week actually. We talk a lot. Just checking up on me seeing how my summer’s doing.”

Robertson plans to return to Notre Dame multiple times this fall including the Michigan State game on an unofficial visit and Stanford for his official visit. Those trips aren't locked in yet. He was last in South Bend for Irish Invasion.

Notre Dame continues to recruit Robertson as an athlete with the possibility of playing either wide receiver or free safety. The Rivals250 prospect caught 50 passes for 803 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
