2017 DL Andrew Kerobo Enjoys Electric Notre Dame Atmosphere

While most of Notre Dame’s visitors list for the Miami game Oct. 29 centered around the 2018 and 2019 classes, the Irish did host a few 2017 prospects with the main one being Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt Trussville three-star wide receiver Noah Igbinoghene.

But one new name did show up in South Bend — Cincinnati Winton Woods defensive lineman Andrew Kerobo. He is the teammate of 2017 target three-star defensive lineman Jerron Cage.

“It was a great experience. I had blast,” Kerobo said. “It was a good game, which is the best part too … I was able to see the campus and some of the athletic facilities.”

The 6-4, 260-pound Kerobo arrived in South Bend a little late and wasn’t able to spend much time with the coaching staff while they celebrated the 30-27 victory over the Hurricanes. However, Kerobo enjoyed seeing the excitement from the coaches.

“The coaches after the game and their enthusiasm to get after the next challenge,” Kerobo said of what stood out during the visit.

Kerobo said his favorite part of the whole experience was watching the Irish players run through the tunnel. He described the atmosphere during the game as “absolutely electric.”

“I’d give it a nine,” Kerobo said. “It was a great game. They treated me very well; the food at halftime was good and the experience in the locker room [was good as well].”

A return trip to Notre Dame is a possibility for Kerobo. This visit certainly increased his interest in the program.

“Possibly,” Kerobo said when asked if he would return to South Bend. “If Jerron can take me on his official visit I’ll come with him, but if not I’m not 100 percent sure just yet.

“I haven't seen a Notre Dame game in person and this experience really helped secure more interest in them.”

Kerobo and defensive line coach Keith Gilmore have been in contact. He likes what he’s seen from the players Gilmore has coached in his time at Notre Dame.

“He’s a pretty cool person,” Kerobo said. “He is a really good coach looking at some of his recent D-line products.”

Kerobo is hoping to earn an offer from Notre Dame before the process is over to join his current offer list of Bowling Green and Kent State. He said he is also receiving interest from the rest of the Mid-American Conference and some of the Big Ten.

“It would be pretty cool,” Kerobo said of a potential offer. “I’d get an opportunity to practice and play with Daniel Cage again as I did freshman year [at Winton Woods].”

Kerobo, who is currently unranked, has also been to Ohio State and Kentucky this fall.
