Is Brown visiting again?

Harding Academy (Tenn.) standout Marlon Brown made a surprise announcement Tuesday night when he declared that he was coming to Athens for an unofficial visit with the Bulldogs this weekend.

"I'll be in Athens Saturday," Brown said in an exclusive interview with UGASports.

It will be Brown's third trip to Athens in the past four months, following his official visit on Aug. 26 and a subsequent recent trip to meet with Georgia basketball coach Dennis Felton.

Brown still hopes to play both football and basketball with whichever team he signs.

The 8th-rated receiver in Rivals.com's latest ranking of the state's top 100 wideouts, Brown said he's had visits from both Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels and wide receivers coach John Eason in the past week.

"I still really like Georgia," Brown said. "It's all about Coach (Mark) Richt and the players, really. It's like one big family."

The Bulldogs are one of five finalists for Brown's services. The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder has also taken official visits to Ohio State (Oct. 10) and will visit Florida (Jan. 9), LSU (Jan. 23) and Tennessee (Jan. 30).

Brown took an unofficial visit to Ohio State last weekend.

"I'm just taking a lot of mental notes, going over a lot of things in my head," Brown said. "I'm paying close attention to everything."

Brown conceded that teams' depth charts will be a bit of a role in his decision, and he's very aware that the Bulldogs must replace three senior receivers from 2008, including starting wideout Mohamed Massaquoi.

"It's the main one," Brown said. "But it is a little bit."

Brown said he still intends on waiting until Signing Day on Feb. 4 before making his final decision known.

"It's going to be real tough," he said. "But I still have some visits to make. I want to be sure I make the right choice."
