Cedar Hill's Junior Classic Combine Results

At the National Underclass Combine for the '09s at Cedar Hill in May, it was a Central Texas caravan from Round Rock Stony Point which made the biggest team impression.

Led by returning senior quarterback Nyk McKissic, the Tigers were well-represented by a defensive back and receiving corps that showed elusiveness and speed.

McKissic threw well on a windy day and definitely shined among a group of quarterbacks which included Parish Episcopal's Brant Costilla, Midlothian's Bryce Petty and Fort Worth All Saints' Doak Raulston.

But the steady hands of senior receiver Glasco Martin also stood out. Martin was McKissic's go-to-guy last season. The 6-1, 195-pound will play receiver and running back for the Tigers.

Also a standout was senior Julian Dozier, who is a great defensive back prospect who could be an elusive game-breaker with more consistent hands as a receiver. Dozier ran a 4.5 in the 40 and a 4.2 in the shuttle and was all but uncoverable in 7-on-7 competition. Stony Point's Kenny Browder also showed Division I athleticism at Cedar Hill as well.

"This is the year Stony Point breaks out," Dozier said. "We got a taste and a feel for the playoffs last year. And this is our year."

Stony Point was ousted in the second-round by Spring Westfield. Stony Point also lost to eventual state finalist Pflugerville in district.

But with a defense led by high-motor end Tevin Mims, the leadership and talent of the players at the Cedar Hill combine showed it could be a benchmark year for Stony Point.
