Mississippi OT gets AU offer, wants to visit

With four seniors along the starting offensive line in 2010, offensive line is a big priority for Auburn in the 2011 recruiting class.

One top ranked offensive tackle that Auburn just recently offered is Jackson (Miss.) Callaway four-star offensive tackle Aaron Morris. Morris already held offers from numerous SEC schools, and the Auburn offer was one that excited him.

"They offered me like a week or two ago," Morris said. "They mailed it to me. I had called a coach there and talked to him and they said the offer was coming."

The 6-foot-5, 310-pound prospect said he was going to visit Auburn this past weekend, but due to some car trouble, wasn't able to make the trip. Morris said he'd still like to make the trip over to Auburn as soon as possible.

"I was supposed to come up there this past weekend, but my mom's car broke down," Morris said. "I want to make it to Auburn before the summer is over, I just to get with my mom and make it happen."

Auburn offensive line coach Jeff Grimes has been in contact with Morris, but the two have yet to meet.

"He seems great on the phone, but I haven't met him yet," Morris said.

Morris claims eight offers right now, and four are standing out above the rest.

"I don't really have a leader," Morris said. "I have a top four of Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, and Auburn."

Morris admits he doesn't know much about the Auburn program expect that it's in the SEC. One thing he does know is that Auburn will be losing four starters on the offensive line this year, so the opportunity to play early is a good one at Auburn.

"They told me about it," Morris said about Auburn's depth chart. "He said they were losing a lot of players, and coming in and playing early would be possible. Depth chart is important because I want to play. The coaches also, and how the school is without football, and the feel of the campus."

Rivals ranks Morris as the no. 24 offensive tackle in the nation, the no. 5 player in the state of Mississippi, and the no. 249 overall player in the nation.
