Commit Won't Stop Sooner WR Recruiting
Oklahoma may already have one commitment at wide receiver for the class of 2011 but the Sooners continue their national search for top talent, and recently that investigation led them to Saginaw, Mich. to find local superstar pass-catcher DeAnthony Arnett. The 6-foot, 170-pound receiver had a chance to catch up with the Sooner coaching staff a few weeks ago and it seems the Sooners have found an in-road with the young star.
"I talked to the recruiting coordinator and the receivers coach, Jay Norvell," Arnett said. "They were just saying they are very interested and they want to see some film and see me in person, and they've heard that I'm a good player."
This type of attention is nothing new to Arnett who already holds offers from Eastern Michigan, Michigan, Michigan State, and Tennessee. Such notoriety began after attending a local camp following his freshman season at Saginaw, he says since that day interview requests and autographs for local high school football fans have become a regular part of life.
"I went to a camp up here and I just blew up after that and everyone started calling," he said. "Back then I really didn't know that I'd be drawing a lot of attention, I didn't know it would get this big where everybody wants to talk to you and the camera is always in your face, you just have to go all in and accept it."
