Getting to know signee David Bakhtiari
David Bakhtiari did not start at the varsity level until his senior season at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif.
Neither did his older brother Eric Bakhtiari, who signed with the San Diego Chargers in January.
"Eric didn't even play a snap on varsity until his senior year and he didn't have one scholarship offer coming out of high school," the younger Bakhtiari said. "He actually walked on at a D-1AA school, the University of San Diego. And now he is in the NFL.
"I honestly look up to him every day. I am basically trying to follow his path. He wasn't a four-star recruit out of high school. But he just worked hard and didn't care what everybody thought about him.
"People come up to me and go, 'Oh, your only a two-star'. But I don't really care what my ranking is. All that matters is how you do when you put on the pads."
Bakhtiari saw his recruiting stock take off late in the cycle. He received scholarship offers from CU, Washington, Utah and UTEP.
Shortly after a trip to Boulder in January, Bakhtiari decided he would don the black and gold in college.
We caught up with the 6-foot-4, 265-pound offensive lineman and asked him a variety of questions as part of our series of signee Q&A's.
