Longtime USC pledge to take trips
Longtime USC four-star athlete commit James Boyd (6-4, 211, 4.7) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Jordan will be taking trips this month. He originally committed to USC after a strong showing at USC's Rising Stars Camp last June, but his standout season as a quarterback has opened up some eyes, but he still thought of more as a defensive end.
All Boyd did his senior season is lead the state of California in passing yards with 4,266 and 44 touchdowns while completing 62.2 percent of his passes.
On defense, while having to fight through double teams, he racked up 104 tackles, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries.
When you stop a moment and think of what Boyd accomplished his senior season on both sides of the ball you have to be impressed with not only his athleticism, but his stamina and durability.
"I'm not sure where I want to play in college," Boyd said. "That is why I want to go on these visits and check things out. I want just to be sure I'm making the right decision."
Boyd was a member of the Rivals.com Rivals250 team for the class of 2009. Rivals.com ranked him as the nation's No. 4 most athletic player. He was also selected to the Rivals.com California Preseason Top 100 team for the class of 2009 landing as the Golden State's No. 26 prospect at any position.
