On December 13, 2008, the stage was set for Baylor commit Glasco Martin to be a hero, and in the Bears' own backyard no less. With less than three minutes remaining, all the Round Rock native needed was just one yard to score the go-ahead touchdown against the Allen Eagles to secure a spot in the Division I 5A state championship.
Martin has just taken the ball 29 yards down to the goal line on the play prior only to be shoved out diving for the pylon. One more yard still to go. The play starts. Martin receives the handoff, and before he can surge forward, one of his offensive lineman is bull rushed into him, knocking him off balance to the left, but he doesn't fall over. He keeps his feet churning, and finally, after a second effort, Martin pushes the ball past the goal line before being slammed backwards to the ground, giving the Stony Point Tigers a 21-17 lead with only 2:33 remaining on the Floyd-Casey stadium scoreboard
Minutes later, Allen wide receiver Dakarai Peckikonis would go on to catch a 21 yard bomb for a touchdown, giving the eventual state championship Eagles the win, and making for another painful milestone in the perennial underdog Stony Point program's history.
