Four-star wide receiver visits Iowa

Four-star wide receiver Cameron Gordon made his first official visit this past weekend with a trip to the University of Iowa. For the 6-foot-2, 211-pound Gordon, who hails from Inkster, Michigan, it marked not only his first time in the Hawkeye State, but his first plane ride as well.

Gordon's hosts on the official visit were freshman defensive end Jason Semmes, who is also from the Detroit area, and sophomore quarterback Marvin McNutt. During the trip, the four-star prospect also had a chance to catch up with the Iowa coaching staff, who is recruiting him at wide receiver.

Heading up Iowa's recruitment of Gordon is assistant coach Phil Parker along with wide receivers coach Erik Campbell. Parker stopped by to visit the four-star prospect last week, while Campbell, who used to coach at Michigan, will be up in the Detroit area this week to see him.

Along with Iowa, Gordon holds scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, and Cincinnati, among others. Currently, he says he is in no rush to make a decision. He plans to sit down with his high school coach, Greg Carter, this week and plan his next visit as he looks to eventually narrow down his choices before signing day.
