Does UGA have shot at Robinson after visit?
Auburn commitment Montez Robinson took an official visit to the University of Georgia over the weekend. The Rivals250 defensive end entered Athens with an open mind looking to see if he felt better there than he did on the plains.
"I got down there on Friday and I didn't really do much that day other than hang out in the hotel. On Saturday, I got up and ate breakfast with the coaches before meeting with the academic people. I watched the game and then I hung out with my host Jeff Owens. He is a cool guy, he told me the kind of opportunities I would have at Georgia, and how I could help the team."
"I spent a lot of time with Coach Rodney Garner too and he told me that they could really use a rush end like me. Coach Garner told me that they needed me and he is a real good person. He is just a real straight forward guy and he gave me some good advice; he told me to surround myself with good people no matter where I go."
Coach Garner was not the only coach Robinson spent time with at UGA. He also met with head coach Mark Richt while in town.
"Coach Richt was nice to talk to and he is a real nice man. He asked me what I was looking for and I told him great teammates and a great education. Coach Richt told me that he would help me with that and anything else I would need if I came to Georgia. He is great at Georgia because of his stability. I know he is going to be there for a while."
The Dawgs did lose the game in front of the 6-foot-5, 235 pound end out of Avon (IN), but he says that will not play into his final decision.
