Lattimore picks up a new offer

Florida tight end Justin Lattimore picked up a new scholarship offer this weekend. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Lattimore, who verbally committed to Iowa back in October, received the news from Illinois during a phone call on Sunday night.

In late October, Iowa was the first major conference school to offer Lattimore, joining Ball State, Miami of Ohio, Florida Atlantic, and Florida International. The two-star prospect committed to the Hawkeyes shortly thereafter before even touring campus, which he did a week ago on his official visit.

Now, the Illini have thrown their hat in the ring as well. While Lattimore was quick to say that he is still committed to Iowa, he has not ruled out the possibility of making an official visit to Illinois down the road.

Lattimore's Tampa Gaither team saw their season come to a close this past weekend after a 54-6 loss to Chamberlain in the playoffs. On the year, the tight end finished with 22 catches for 378 yards and three touchdowns.
