Lattimore makes his official visit

Three weeks ago, Florida native Justin Lattimore verbally committed to Iowa before ever setting foot on campus. This past weekend, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Lattimore, who attends Gaither High School in Tampa, made his way to Iowa City for his official visit and left town feeling even better about his decision.

Lattimore's host on the visit was freshman running back Jeff Brinson, who is also from the Tampa area. Brinson, who is redshirting this year, shared some of his experiences with the high school senior and had the chance to catch up on things back at home.

The visit also gave Lattimore a chance to see his first game in Kinnick Stadium. The two-star prospect, who made the trip with his parents, watched the Hawkeyes beat Purdue 22-17 on Saturday.

On the field this year, Lattimore has 22 catches for 378 yards and three touchdowns playing in a predominantly run-based offense at Tampa Gaither. After a bye week, which allowed him to make the official visit, it is back to the gridiron this Friday as Gaither faces Chamberlain in the first round of the playoffs.
