Dawgs make Rivals250 OL a top target
It did not take the University of Georgia long to decide that they wanted to make a Rivals250 out-of-state offensive tackle a new 2009 target. The 6-foot-7, 288 pound tackle sent Georgia his film and they offered him a full scholarship the day they received it.
"I sent my film down to Georgia last Wednesday and they called my school and offered me on Thursday," said J.K. Jay. "We did not have school on Thursday, but I went in to watch some film and that is when they called."
"Coach [Stacy] Searels called my coach and he offered me first and then Coach [Mark] Richt left a press conference or something he was doing to come talk to me and make sure I knew I had an offer from the Bulldogs. They offered me as soon as they watched my film."
The Rivals250 lineman verbally committed to Clemson back in April of 2007, but with the coaching situation unknown in Death Valley, Jay has decided to look at other schools.
"I am just going to have to re-evaluate everything now. I have to find out what is going on at Clemson, but I am graduating early, so I am just going to look at some other schools and re-evaluate everything."
His first official visit was tentatively scheduled for this coming weekend to the University of Kentucky, but Jay said that he will not have time to fit that visit in this weekend.
As of now, he will likely take his first trip to Georgia later this month.
